Mr. Rutan is an associate at CONNOR, FLETCHER & HEDENKAMP LLP. Mr. Rutan and the firm handle all types of business litigation matters, primarily involving real estate and land use disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, fraud, breach of contract, insurance bad faith, trademark and trade secret infringement, unfair competition and anti-trust, other business law issues.
Mr. Rutan graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine School of Law in 2016, where he served as Staff Editor for the UC Irvine Law Review. Mr. Rutan was a quarterfinalist in Moot Court, where he won Best Brief. While participating in the Appellate Litigation Clinic, Mr. Rutan and his partner drafted briefs in two cases heard by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Rutan received the highest or second-highest grade in three classes, including First Amendment Law and Business Associations. While in law school, Mr. Rutan also worked as a law clerk at a business and real estate litigation firm. Mr. Rutan graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in History.
